Your liver is one of the largest organs in your body and is essential for digesting food and helps in the production of bile, which helps carry away waste and break down fats in the small intestine during digestion.

As the liver is one of the crucial organs of the body, it’s very important to detoxify the liver, because anything we consume, the toxins present in those products slowly collect inside our liver and it can cause so many problems to our liver. The liver can get swelled due to these toxins or it can also cause problems like jaundice, hepatitis, and fatty liver. Due to this, the liver can stop working as well, so it’s important to clear your liver from time to time so that it can work properly.

In this blog, I am going to tell you some food items that you can add to your daily routine.

The list of food items helpful to detoxify your body are

1) CRUCIFEROUS VEGETABLES-

Cruciferous vegetables are a group of vegetables that have different kinds of vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, spinach, turnip, radish, and cauliflower which are rich in glutathione that activates cleansing enzymes to clear away toxic compounds from the liver.

You should consume these vegetables regularly. It will benefit you more if you consume them as a Salad or you can even sautéing them.

You can cook these vegetables as well but when we cook these vegetables at high temperatures, some of the nutrients get destroyed so it is recommended to consume them as Salad. Consume around 1 bowl daily for more benefits.

2) SPROUTS-

Sprouts are the premature growth of a plant from a germinated seed. Every vegetable becomes a sprout at some point but only a few of them are considered edible. Some of the edible sprouts are alfalfa, broccoli, mung bean, and radish sprouts. All these sprouts contain vitamins and minerals and also they have properties to eliminate toxins present inside your body, especially the toxins present in the liver. Likewise, sprouts boost liver enzymes which improve your digestion as well. Vitamins like B-complex which is good for your liver health also present in sprouts.

You should eat at least one bowl of sprouts daily or you can make it tasty by adding some spices as well.

3) BEETROOT-

Garlic is a species close to the onion and has so many medical properties. It decreases our cholesterol and is important for your heart health as well. It contains selenium which protects the cells of your liver and helps you to detoxify your liver. Garlic is also good for fatty liver, which means if there is fat deposition around your liver and due to that, your liver function has slowed down, you will get benefit from that too.

You should eat 2 cloves of garlic every day in the morning. You can eat it raw, otherwise, garlic supplements are also available in the market.

One thing you should remember before eating garlic is that you should not eat it at once, the best method is to cut the garlic into slices, leave it for 10 minutes, and then consume it.
